Betran is a tall, flightless, bird humanoid. His skin is grey and his feathers are few, having a small bunch of plumage for a tail and stilted feet which he tiptoes upon quietly so as to not wake Ionsa.

Betran sneaks into the Caves of Fate as [Ionsa|aminoapps.com/p/9rue87], the goddess who spins the Web of Life, sleeps. Taking small, cautious steps, he finds pleasure in the game of plucking away the strong threads of living souls with his claws, determining whom dies and whom doesn't. The threads of souls in peril will glow a faint blue, only then can a thread ever be plucked away from the Web of Life.

He is also known as The Bird Man.
